Artist and designer, Susan Pickover has been working in the fashion industry for almost 15 years. Her passion for color, knowledge of trends and endless imagination makes her one of today's hottest designers.  

HISTORY

Susan Pickover was born and bred in the great state of New Jersey. She even graduated in 1994 from NJ's State University Rutgers where she studied Women's Studies, Cinema Studies and Art History. While still in school Susan would commute to New York City to work in the film industry. As a producer Susan found success working mostly on commercials and documentaries. In 2001, after living in Brooklyn, NY for two years, she needed a change and pursued her love of textile design. With a Surface and Textile Degree from The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City Susan took the fashion industry by storm. Since then she has worked as a graphic and textile artist, art director and tee shirt guru. 

Textile design kept Susan very busy in New York but she still found the time to work on being funny. She performed all around the New York area as  a musical improviser. Her years of comedy training from The Upright Citizen's Brigade and The Magnet Theater actually help bring a freshness to her design work. 

In 2013 Susan and her computer animator husband, Zach Shelton, moved to the exciting and creative city of Austin, TX. Here she continues her work with graphic and textile design freelancing for a wide variety of companies around the country. With a house instead of a tiny New York apartment Susan now has the space to also work on her hand crafted items. You can see her love of textiles and all things vintage in everything she makes including jewelry, note books and baby clothes.
